One bad day isn't going to ruin the good three days.

So this last week or so, we worked for almost four straight days,  with one day off, other than trying to get him to take the bit, which was a total struggle. He wasn't going to back down and take it. We fought and fought and fought. He just didn't want it, and although I didn't want him to win, it was too difficult to fight him, because obviously, he's like a million times bigger than I am! So I gave up about 15 mins of fighting him. But thankfully the few days before and today had HUGE improvements, so I wasn't going to let that one day piss me off!  Anyways, today Copper was more relaxed, as was I! Of course, both of still have a lot more learning to do. But I plan on taking a few lessons once Copper gets going, and he wont be such a pain in the ass:P Anyways --

Today Copper took the bit a little better, well much better than yesterday! Which I'm thankful for. He was a bit of butt when Danielle was working with him, but he was much better with me. :P haha Sorry Danielle ;)

I can't wait to learn more, and see how Copper and I both improve over the next few months. I'm trying my hardest to improve a lot more. so we'll see how it goes :)

Here's a video of me riding today, like I said, him and I both still have a lot of improvements to make :P

Just a little update :)

I am SO thankful for my "cousin" Danielle! She's helped me tons with Copper already, and even got me a gift, the new cross headstall, which I LOVE! :D Anyways, She's awesome! :)

Today, she came out to help me lunge Coppy and get him going, and show me a different way of lunging him, which gives me more control of him, rather then him having all of the control, which he tries to have often. And I have to admit it is so much easier than just fighting him ;) haha Anyways, he did a lot better today and was more focused on what we were asking of him. He was one tired guy afterwards, he laid down for awhile! Tomorrow Danielle and I will begetting on him, and working on him in the saddle :) I'm super excited!

And here is Coppers stall tack room door!!! Woohoo!! So glad it's done!!!!!!!!

We're taking baby steps, but making progress:)

So today, we made big progress. We've been making little baby steps the last few months, but then Copper went lame. A few people thought he had an abscess, so we got the farrier to come out, and she said he doesn't. Which is so awesome. But then he started limping on one of his back legs, and we just couldn't do anything, so it's been a frustrating few weeks. Anyways, we got Coppers feet done again, and today he was almost a whole new horse! :) He felt so much better! I posted a video on FB, but I will post the link here too. I'm just SO excited about the progress we've made. We can take 1 step back, but then we can take 2 forward. He's going to be such an awesome horse.

** THOUGHT OF THE LIKE THE WEEK OR SOMETHING :P HAHA** Anyways, Just something to rant about with horse people-- All I hear is people continuously putting my horse down, and making it seem like he's such a terrible horse. He's really not. He has the sweetest personality ever. I just wish people would stop being so negative about things. Obviously they are jealous Coppy, and like him better than their own horses ;)

And I can't thank my friends and cousins, and others enough as to how much they have helped me. Mariah, and Danielle especially-- They are so awesome. And without my cousins, I wouldn't have a place to keep him, so they're awesome too :)

Heres some pictures and stuff though too. I can't wait to show everyone the progress we make in the next month or so :)

Copper gets a shower :P

So today, I decided it was time to give Copper a bath for the first time since I've had him! He did WAY better than I could ever imagine. He stood there, and wasn't even phased by the water. Although, I'm sure it felt very refreshing for him after the warm day we had, but I was still pleased on how well he did! Flyspray seems to bother him, but that big shot of water doesn't. I have the strangest horse, EVER.
Anyways, here's a picture from today--

Pretty soon we'll be riding! (thanks to Danielle helping me out so much!) I ordered a saddle pad today, should be here in 3-12 days.... so in reality 2 weeks. But until then, I guess we'll just work with what we got :)

The start of it all!

Seven months ago I got a horse named Copper. He's the sweetest most caring horse ever. Of course, we got him at a terrible time, It was snowing and the weather just sucked and playing softball and being around so many other horses (7 other horse)  didn't help us bond good at first, but  he would almost always come running to the fence as soon as he saw me<3 But we ended up moving out to our own place, out in Ferndale and it's been complete peace and total bonding time with him. He's been acting so much better. Although he is still stubborn, but what horse isn't :P I can't wait to show everyone the improvements we have been making already and continue to make! My somewhat "cousin" ( not sure what exactly she is to me, but we grew up together when I was younger) anyways, she's been helping me out SO much already. And I'm excited for her to continue to help me. She makes it fun, and she shows me and teaches me, rather than just doing it for me. Anyways, here are two videos already showing how much better he's doing :)

Here's the first day Danielle and I started working with Copper, 7/21
